BIY = builder’s code (three capital letters)
B = code for boat type
78CL = production number
K = month built (A=1=January, B=2=Feb., C=3=March etc.) in this case K=11=Nov.
9 = year built (1 figure - last figure of year)
00 = model year (2 figures - last figure of year)
This example shows that the boat was built in the USA, the builder is the Bayliner yard, the boat type is B, the type number is 78CL, the month built is November 1999 and the boat is from model year 2000.
